Visualising Marx’s Capital

Visualisation 1

Simple + Expanded Circulation

This visualisation draws on Marx’s account in Parts 1 and 2 of Capital of the Simple Circulation process of commodities [C-M-C] (Chapters 1-3) and the Expanded Circulation process of capital [M-C-M+]. It introduces core concepts in the opening Parts of Capital including the distinction between the circuit of the worker (waged labour) and that of the money-owner (capital).

Visualisation 2

An Outline of Capital …

Grasping the outline of Capital at a strategic level is important when (a) getting to know and understand the argument of Capital, in addition to (b) making in-roads on Marx’s scientific method (the conceptual process undertaken) when researching and writing his opus. This visualisation presents a bird’s eye view of the final structure of Volume 1 in relation to Marx’s pre- and post-Capital notes and writings.
